Official Job Description

We're hiring an Operations Generalist/People Lead/Company Ambassador to own and lead critical company-wide goals related to growing the company. This is a highly visible role as you'll be the first screener candidates meet and a direct extension of our brand identity.

This role has largely been performed by our CTO and presents a great opportunity for anyone looking to build a function from 0-1 at a very fast-growing startup.

You will...

Hiring (end to end): Build an efficient, opinionated, and personable hiring funnel that converts talented candidates

  • Contribute to company-wide hiring goals for technical and non-technical roles
  • Assist in planning, creating, and releasing job descriptions and announcements
  • Source candidates from schools, industries, and networks where skilled, ambitious people cluster
  • Develop creative hacks that short-circuit traditional methods and give us an edge over other companies
  • Partner with external recruiters to extend our network and add leverage to our hiring process
  • Screen candidates to determine their motivation, preferences, and fit for our open roles
  • Convert candidates efficiently, ensuring a thoughtful, personal touch at each step
  • Close candidates we want to join us, working alongside the co-founders and hiring managers
  • Coordinate recruiting logistics, including on-site interviews
  • Optimize our hiring processes, tools, and systems to ensure efficiency

Brand Strategy: Craft a company brand and message that attracts the world's best talent

  • Build a deep understanding of our customers, product, and industry
  • Define what's unique about our company for candidates and why we're a top choice for high performers
  • Build and own outbound messaging campaigns to attract candidates sourced at events
  • Improve and develop new recruiting assets (e.g., website, career page, candidate slides)
  • Craft compelling content blogs highlighting achievements, innovative projects, and employee stories

Project Management (ad hoc): Spearhead various projects, whether related to people or our business

  • Work with marketing & operations to plan and execute events
  • Support in planning and execution of team socials, offsites, dinners, etc.
  • Support chief of staff in planning annual team off-sites

You...

  • Have 1+ years of experience at a fast-growing startup (series B and below)
  • OR have 1-2 years of experience in big 3 consulting or banking, demonstrating rigor and high work ethic
  • Have 1-3 years of experience working in operations
  • Possess variety of experience across operations, people management, business operations, etc.
  • Have experience in full-cycle hiring processes, including sourcing and closing candidates
  • Are familiar with job boards and HR software (we use Ashby as our ATS)
  • Have familiarity with SaaS products or documentation
  • Hold a degree from a top 30 university
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills - responsive, clear, succinct
  • Can tell compelling stories, especially about a company and brand to candidates
  • Are comfortable operating independently and efficiently, with little upfront guidance
  • Have a desire to learn and test out new ways to attract talent and build community
  • Clearly want to work at an early-stage startup

Our ideal candidate should NOT be:

  • Without startup experience
  • Specialized in only one area (recruiting only, for example)
  • Too senior (5-10 years or more of experience)
